Job description

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Production Director to oversee and coordinate all production activities, with a primary focus on optimizing operations between the laboratory and factory. The role requires a strong leader who can ensure effective collaboration between both teams, redefine key procedures, streamline production timelines, and design scalable systems that support future growth.

The ideal candidate will take ownership of both the laboratory and factory operations, working closely with the Production & Process Manager and the Operations Coordinator to improve efficiency, and develop a production model that scales as the company grows.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee Production Operations: Manage both laboratory and factory operations, ensuring a balanced approach to both sides of production. Focus on improving efficiency, quality, and safety standards.
  • Procedure Optimization: Redefine existing production procedures across the lab and factory, ensuring consistency and scalability while reducing production time and cost.
  • Scalability Focus: Plan and implement scalable solutions for the production processes, ensuring the company can efficiently transition from artisanal to industrial-scale production without compromising quality.
  • Collaboration with Key Teams: Work closely with the Essence Production Coordinator to synchronize lab and factory operations. Partner with the Production & Process Manager to refine processes and improve overall production flow.
  • Lead Continuous Improvement: Promote a culture of continuous improvement, identifying and implementing process enhancements that increase efficiency and adaptability across both the lab and factory.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards and regulations, including IFRA and others, across both laboratory and factory activities.
  • Strategic Advisory: Serve as a trusted advisor to the CEO and GM on all matters related to production and lab operations. Provide clear and actionable insights into potential improvements or challenges.
  • Budget Management: Oversee budgets for production, laboratory, and R&D activities, ensuring cost-effective and efficient resource allocation.

Requirements

Requirements

  • Degree in Industrial Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in production management, with a strong focus on operations and scaling production processes.
  • Experience managing both laboratory and factory environments.
  • Proven ability to redefine processes and optimize production timelines.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with experience in driving teams towards continuous improvement and efficiency.
  • Exceptional communication skills in both English and Italian (spoken and written); Spanish is a plus.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a hands-on approach with a strategic mindset.
