Job description

From Luxe Talent, International Recruitment and Training Consultancy specialised in Fashion, Luxury, Retail and FMCG, we are looking for a Head Chef in Berlin for a 4-Star Premium Boutique Hotel.

 

In our recruitment and training consultancy, we work with different firms in the Luxury, Premium and High Premium sectors around Europe and have offices in Barcelona, Madrid, Paris, Milan and Munich.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES AS A HEAD CHEF:

 

  • Teach and manage kitchen personnel and coordinate all cooking activities including purchases.
  • Estimate food consumption.
  • Organize and develop the set up of a 24-hour snack lounge.
  • Select and develop recipes as well as regulate production recipes to guarantee consistent quality.
  • Create presentation techniques and quality standards.
  • Plan and price menus.
  • Ensure proper equipment operation and maintenance.
  • Ensure suitable safety and hygiene in the kitchen according to HACCP standards.
  • Plan regular duties such as cleaning and designing menus, and make sure cooking activities are coordinated between cooking staff when preparing meals.
  • Create holiday and shifts schedules.
  • Organize and perform all meetings and trainings.
  • Conduct a performance review, at least once a year, to all kitchen staff.
  • Direct particular catering events and offer culinary trainings or demonstrate culinary techniques.
  • Hold a station in the restaurant, supervise all other stations, staff and ensure an excellent communication to guests and the service team.

Requirements

REQUIREMENTS OF THE HEAD CHEF:

 

  • Fluency in English
  • Knowledge and previous experience in the Mediterranean cuisine
  • Strong knowledge of seasonal foods
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Experience in managing a team, training and budgeting
  • Previous experience in the city of Berlin is preferred
  • Previous experience in casual dining restaurants
  • Previous experience in a quality hotel is a plus
